Obasanjo Inaugurates Building Project at Bells University 

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has inaugurated a new building project for the College of Postgraduate Studies, Bells University, Ota, Ogun State.

The building donated by Asiwaju Solomon Onafowokan, Chairman of Coleman Wires and Cables, has the objective of cultivating more leaders who will impact the society positively.

Speaking at the ceremony, Obasanjo commended Onafowokan for contributing towards the development of the community. 

He defined success as that which has the ability to make improvements, adding that the donation will make the institution better. 

“Bells University cannot be inherited or sold by his children, as it belongs solely to the community,” Obasanjo stated.

The Vice-Chancellor,  Prof. Jeremiah Ojediran, emphasised the significance of the donation, saying that it has a symbol of hope, progress, and has the potential for greatness.

Ojediran thanked Onafowokan for his generosity, noting that the project highlighted the importance of cost-effective solutions.

In his remarks, Onafowokan thanked everyone who attended the event and apologised for the delay caused by the COVID-19 lockdown.

Prof. Bart Nnaji, the Pro-chancellor and Chairman of council of the institution, commended Obasanjo for his contributions to education, as well as Onafowokan for his generous donation. 

He urged other philanthropists to emulate the donor and support private institutions.
