Kanekalon Set for Crowning of another African Queen

All is set for this year’s edition of the Miss Kanekalon pageant where an African queen will be crowned for the second time. The show billed to hold on Saturday November 12 at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, promises to showcase colourful contents of entertainment by fantastic artistes, gifts to take home, and exclusive hair show of brand-new weave-on styles. Not just that, the event is also going to be a great opportunity for the ambitious, talented and beautiful African woman who has her mind set to becoming Miss Kanekalon 2017, to experience and pre-study what makes a lady Miss Kanekalon.

It will be recalled that Miss Kanekalon 2015 Finals was held last year, where Ms. Esther Chukwujekwu emerged as the very first Miss Kanekalon, taking home N2m, a 2015 brand new Toyota Yaris and a one year modeling contract while the 1st and 2nd runners ups Ms. Abisola got N1.5m with a 60” LED TVC and Ms. Elma got N1m respectively. This year’s 20 finalists will include five finalists selected from the audition held in Accra, Ghana for the very first time, together with 15 finalists from Port Harcourt and Lagos auditions.
The finalists’ hairstyles will use Kanekalon‘s braids, styled with the creativity of the stylists, with the theme of ‘Bringing out the individual Natural beauty and Elegance of the African Woman’, a suitable theme to grace this hair and beauty pageant as ever since its introduction in the Nigerian market in 1987 and 1990 in Ghana, and has maintained its attitude of contributing to the beauty of African women by introducing beautiful, high quality, and safe hair extensions.
It is also worthy of note that Kanekalon started its communication in Nigeria in 2010, the year of the 50th Anniversary of Independence of Nigeria and a milestone year for Nigerian women to re-evaluate and appreciate her African beauty.
