Massive gas explosion has occurred at near Kerosene Filling Station at Toyin in Iju-Ishaga area of Lagos state.
The incident happened at about 10.00pm.
As at the time of filing this report, the fire that ignited by the explosion was still raging.
It could not be confirmed if there were casualties. Some residential buildings in the area were said to have been affected.
Men of the Fire Service had arrived as at the time of this report.
A statement from the Lagos Fire Service said the fire had been “confined to the tanker and adjoining row of shops it spread to as concerted efforts are ongoing to forestall further spread to protect the environment and property including the nearby Kerosene Petroleum Filling Station.
The agency is assured the public of their safety and urged them to be as distance as possible from the scene while naked flames should be avoided within the vicinity.
