IsDB, Malaysia Unveil KLCoE Strategy, Hold Talks on Deeper Development Ties


 
A delegation from the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group led by its Director General of Global Practice and Partnership, Dr. Issa Faye, met with the Malaysian top officials and representatives from various key stakeholders at an ‘Open Day’ of the ‘Strategic Realignment Exercise’ of the IsDB Center of Excellence in Kuala Lumpur.

The IsDB delegation also comprised Mr. Samer Elesawi, Head of IsDB Center of Excellence in Kuala Lumpur (KLCoE) as well as senior experts and officials from several entities of the IsDB group namely Islamic Corporation for Insurance of Investments and Export Credits (ICIEC), Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD), International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC), as well as the Bank’s key departments including the Cooperation and Capacity Development, Partnerships, Global Advocacy and Resource Mobilization, Treasury and Strategy, Budget & Corporate Performance.

Receiving the IsDB delegation at the Open Day were The Hon. Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, the Minister of Finance II and H.E Datuk Johan Mahmood Merican, the Secretary General of Treasury.

The Open Day, held in the city of Putrajaya was co-hosted by the Ministry of Finance of Malaysia and the IsDB Center of Excellence in Kuala Lumpur (KLCoE).

The Open Day aimed to present the outcomes of the Co-Creation Lab which was held on 21st – 22nd February 2024 in the form of a Gallery Walk, which showcases the strategic directions and flagship programmes of KLCoE.

The Gallery Walk validation and syndication process provides an immersive experience of KLCoE`s strategic transformation programmes and facilitates a direct dialogue between leadership, key stakeholders and KLCoE.

It also unveils the Center’s medium-term strategy for 2024-2026, developed collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

The IsDB delegation will be meeting various stakeholders during the period 6th-8th March to further deliberate the results of the Strategic Realignment Exercise, among others with the Central Bank of Malaysia, Securities Commission, Ministry of Health, Department of Islamic Development, Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation, Halal Development Corporation, EXIM Bank, Malaysian External Trade Development Corporation, World Bank,  INCEIF and Arab Malaysian Chamber of Commerce.

The KLCoE aims to solidify IsDB’s partnerships in the region and its strategic alignment exercise lays a solid foundation for the Bank’s collaborative initiatives steering them towards shared prosperity, fairness, and environmental stewardship.
