We Are Quietly Building Camp for Internally Displaced Politicians’
By Kasim Sumaina in Abuja
In a move to bring together some aggrieved Politicians from all works of life irrespective of parties affiliations into one forum, yet to be registered People’s Mega Party (PMP) has said it was quietly building a great camp for ‘Displaced Politicians’ in Nigeria
The Protem National Chairman of the PMP, Chief Perry Opara disclosed this through his Aide, Mr. Nwoko Precious yesterday in Abuja.
Opara lamented that there were so many Internally Displaced Politicians in Nigeria whose number was far greater than that of the original Internally Displaced Persons caused by terrorism.
According to him, “There are sets of politicians who are either uncomfortable in their present party or confused because they don’t know where to go.
“We are quietly but painstakingly forming great structures in the States, Local Government Areas and Wards before the mass exoduses that will happen soon in some other political parties. We have shifted our activities from Abuja to States where our men are doing a great job.”
He stressed the need to accommodate these displaced politicians. “Most of them are so frustrated in their present parties that they need to move. Some of them are worried that our house is not ready but we encourage them to be patient because in a short while the great house will be ready for them to occupy.
Opara who was the Chairman, Defunct National Unity Party said that the Mega Party would offer those intelligent Nigerians who were credible and have something to offer to Nigerians the opportunity to flag our flag in future elections.
“We shall downplay money in our Party. We need popular candidates not rich people. We want women and youth to participate in future elections,” Opara said.
