Airtel has launched its latest internet service offering that enables customers to browse the internet at high speed on a 3G device, while getting a 4G experience in terms of speed.
The data solution called Airtel SmartSpeedoo also comes with Free Surf that enables customers to browse for a longer period of time, at a reduced rate as low as one kobo per kilobyte, as against the standard five kobo per kilobyte that is obtained in other networks.
On activation, the solution offers free 10 megabyte of data. With the Free Surf, customers that use up to 10 megabyte of data, automatically get additional 10 megabytes free of charge. Subsequently, customers that use 20 megabyte of data, get 50 megabyte free, while customers that use up to 50 megabyte of data, automatically get 100 megabyte of data for free.
An existing Airtel customer that is on a particular bundle can be automatically migrated to Free Surf after the customer’s initial data bundle expires. In such a situation, the customer will be charged from the existing airtime at 1kobo per kilobyte.
Head, Public Relations at Airtel, Mr. Adefemi Adeniran, explained that Free Surf is one of the products of SmartSpeedoo, designed to lower the cost of data for customers and at the same time, offers customers with free data, depending on the volume of their data usage.
