Premium Pension: Why Our Campaigns Were Targeted at Youths

Premium Pension Limited, one of the licenced Pension Fund Administrators in Nigeria, has explained the reason why the first phase of its social media campaign on pension tagged: ‘Reward4DHustle’ was targeted at the youths, saying the company believes in catching them young.
The company, during the campaign, which ran from February 15 to March 19, 2016, on the social platform- Twitter, Linkedin, Instagram and Facebook anchored by Alder Consulting Limited, wooed youths into participating in the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) instead of targeting at “soon- to- retire workers.”
Addressing the public on the campaign, the company’s Managing Director, Mr. Wilson Ideva explained that the campaign provided an opportunity for the company to address public enquiries and requests through the instrumentality of modern information technology and also contribute to the generation of public awareness as to the workings of the CPS.
Ideva explained:” We believe in catching them young; that’s why we opted for the social media which is very popular with the youths.”
He reiterated the need for massive public awareness with regard to the CPS, while conferring on the winners, the status of brand ambassadors of the company. “You are now our brand ambassadors and you must project the image of the company positively and continue to propagate among your peers the immense advantages of the new pension scheme,” Ideva stated.
Premium Pension dished out four categories of prizes to winners in the competition.
Mr. Kofoworola George-Taylor, a Lagos -based event manager won prize on Instagram and received a prize of a fully-paid Project Management Course and international travel while Olanike Oyediran, a Lagos-based lawyer won on Facebook opportunity to undergo a fully-paid Project Management Certification Course while another prize went to Idris Abubakar Sadiq. A computer engineer/teacher based in Kaduna, won a home office laptop, printer and modem, while Ogbonna Kingsley Leo, an Enugu-based nurse won on Instagram and received a laptop.
Ideva said pension is all about one making plans on how to take care for oneself at old age, reiterating the need for massive public awareness for the CPS. He conferred on the winners the status of brand ambassadors of the company.

Responding on behalf of the grand prize winners, Sadiq expressed appreciation to the company for the high level of creativity adopted in the campaign and the company’s achievements underscored by consistent high Return on Investment and being the first PFA in Nigeria to receive ISO Certification among others.
