Kidnapped Twins Regain Freedom
After four gruelling nights in the hands of their captors, the kidnapped twins, Clinton and Blair Roberts (also known as DNA Twins) finally regained their freedom in the wee hours of On Thursday.
In a statement released by their father, Chief Robert Opara, the twins were rescued from their captors in a forest in Kogi State, by men of the Nigeria Police who had been on the trail of the kidnappers since Sunday when the duo of Clinton and Blair were abducted from the Ekeson bus service in which they were travelling from Abuja to Lagos to participate in a musical show, Star Voices organized by Glo X-factor.
The kidnappers were said to have dressed in military uniforms.
The incident took place around Kabba, near Obajana in Kogi State.
In the statement, a relieved Opara commended “the Nigeria Police for coming to our aid in rescuing our dear twins from the hands of these godless kidnappers”, adding that the boys who have emantiated significantly, “will be sent for medical check-up today (yesterday)”
According to him, the boys were fed only with water and kwili-kwili while in captivity.
THISDAY gathered that the parents of the twins leapt for joy when the police returned with the 20 year-old twins late in the night, while they (Robert and Becky Opara) waited for the rescue team at a police Station in Kogi State.
The statement was silent on whether any ransom was paid to the kidnappers who had earlier demanded the sum of N10 million.
