Katsina State governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari, has expressed worry over the huge monthly loss of funds resulting from the activities of ghost workers.
He said ghost workers were embedded in the payrolls of the state and the 34 local government areas of the state.
Governor Masari disclosed in Katsina on Monday that ghost workers were costing the state about N700 million monthly, with the practice mostly perpetrated at the local government level with the connivance and even active participation of top officials and the traditional institution.
He warned that those behind the crime would not be spared no matter their standing in the society.
