“We are very glad and encouraged by the endorsement by the Olu of Warri. To this end, we are working towards delivering a peaceful and enjoyable marathon race,” said CEO of Tamitare Gym, Joyce Bozimo who is promoter of the race.
She disclosed that there was also an enthusiastic response from the people of Warri and the youths who are eagerly waiting to participate in the event, which has winning prizes on offer.
Also speaking on the marathon, renowned athletics coach and sports administrator, Seigha Porbeni, submitted that everything was in order concerning the race, which will start at Jakpa Junction near the Warri Refinery and terminates at the Warri Township Stadium.
“So much progress has been made. We have the route mapped out and seeing to it that every other aspect is put in proper perspective.”
