Osinbajo, Bayelsa Governor, Security Chiefs, Traditional Chief in Crucial Meeting over Attacks on Pipelines

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, on Monday evening met with some stakeholders on the current attacks on pipelines in the Niger Delta.

Osinbajo first met with some security chiefs, including those from Navy and Army and the Minister of State, Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, as well as some other officials
of government.

He also met separately with Bayelsa State Governor, Mr. Henry Dickson and the Amayanabo of Toun Brass, Bayelsa State, King Alfred Diete-Spiff.

The Vice President also met with representatives of some oil companies in company with Dickson and Diete-Spiff.

Firms such as Shell, Total, AGIP, NLNG and Chevron among others were represented.

Dickson and Diete-Spiff joined the meeting with the oil chiefs which was still ongoing as at press time.

A new group, the Niger Delta Avengers had claimed responsibility for recent attacks on pipelines ‎in the Niger Delta.

The group has also made several demands on the Federal Government.
