The new leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Niger state has taken steps to woo back aggrieved members of the party who pulled out of the state congress of the party last Tuesday.
The aggrieved members led by a one-time state chairman of the party, Alhaji Abdulrahaman Enagi, alleged the hijack of the entire congress process by a former governor of the state and BOT member of the party, Engineer Abdulkhadir Kure, a claim the former governor denied.
The Chairman of the party in the state, Barrister Tanko Beji, told newsmen in Minna on Thursday that overtures had been made to the angered partymen and women and that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Tanko Beji said he had already held private meetings with alhaji Enagi and the former Secretary to the Niger state government alhaji Idris Ndako Kpaki saying the meetings were fruitful.
“They (aggrieved members) stated their cases they told me what they want we are trying to reach a compromise,” he said
