Anambra PDP Tasks Caretaker Committee on Justice

The Anambra state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has hailed the appointment of the Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led national caretaker committee for the party, describing it as reassuring.
The party tasked the committee to ensure total reconciliation of aggrieved members and justice in the different chapters of the party nationwide.
Secretary of the Ejike Oguebego-led state executive of the PDP in Anambra state, Mr Chuks Okoye, who stated this in a press briefing in Awka, the state capital on Monday, said the appointment of the committee in Port-Harcourt saved the party from disintegration.
This he said was because dissatisfied members of the party would have pulled out.
Okoye said the committee had the opportunity to reconcile warring factions and make the party formidable again.
He described members of the committee as people with integrity, who will not cut corners in the discharge of their responsibilities, especially the secretary, Sen. Ben Ndi-Obi, who is well known for his impeccable character.
Okoye enjoined the committee to pay particular attention to Anambra state PDP where he claimed gross injustice had been perpetrated for long.
“What we are suffering in Anambra is a case where somebody’s wants to bend the rule, but we believe that the committee will look at the issue dispassionately and call a spade a spade not matter whose ox is gored,” he said.
The secretary urged the chairman of the PDP caretaker committee to call on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to issue certificate of return to those candidates who were produced by the Oguebego-led state executive of the party.
