Dele Ogbodo in Abuja

The two warring factions of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday met with the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase, about noon at the Louis Edet Building in Abuja as part of efforts to resolve their differences.

Confirming the meeting that was earlier scheduled for 10 a.m, the Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Assistant Commissioner of Police Bisi Kolawole, in a telephone chat with our reporter, acknowledged that one of the factions was led by the ousted Chairman and former Governor of Bornu State, Alhaji Modu Sheriff.

While the factions have agreed to settle their internal differences for peace to reign, they also requested the IG to open the sealed PDP office. She said: “The two factions promised to guarantee peace in and out of the secretariat.”
