Governorship aspirant of the All Porgressives Congress (APC) in Edo state, Mr Godwin Obaseki, on Wednesday appealed to his co-contestants to see the governorship contest as a brotherly one and not a war.

He made the appeal while receiving the party’s nomination and expression of interest form purchased for him by the state APC caucus in the National Assembly and market women.

Presenting the form to Obaseki before a mammoth crowd at his campaign office, the leader of the Edo state APC caucus in the National Assembly, Senator Francis Alimekhena, said they decided to purchase the form for Obaseki because they believe he is the right one who will fit into the shoes of Governor Adams Oshiomhole.

According to him, “On behalf of APC caucus in the National Assembly, market women, youths, we believe in Obaseki because he has the capacity to manage the resources.

“He is the only person that can take over from Oshiomhole. That is why we all resolved that he is the one that has the wherewithal to lead us. I am presenting the form to him so that he will match to Osadebey Avenue. Obaseki is the one we have chosen to represent APC come September 10 governorship election”.

In his acceptance speech, Obaseki said: “I thank the our members in the National Assembly and everybody who contributed in purchasing this form for me to contest the gubernatorial election in Edo state. I thank former chairmen, market women and the Obaseki family for their contribution. I want to assure you that I will not
disappoint you.
