Rivers Gets New Commissioner of Police, Adebanjo

Mr. Foluso Adebanjo on Tuesday assumed duty as the 36th Rivers State Commissioner of Police.
A statement issued in Port Harcourt by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmad Muhammad (SP), said Adebanjo succeeded Musa Kimo, who is now deployed to Force Headquarters, Abuja.
Muhammad said, “The new Commissioner of Police joined the Nigeria Police in 1984 as Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and rose through the ranks to his present rank of Commissioner of Police in 2012. He is a holder of bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Criminology/Criminal Justice Administration and Management obtained from the University of Central Oklahoma, United States of America. He is an alumnus of the elitist National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Jos.
“He has served in various capacities in the force, he was in the recent past the Commissioner of Police Explosive Ordinance Disposal (Anti-Bomb), Force Headquarters, Abuja and Commissioner of Police Edo State Command. He was until his present posting a Commissioner of Police, Force Headquarters, Abuja.”
