Flavour’s Song for new Glo’s T.V Drama Excites South-East, South-South
A new song composed by modern highlife singer, Chinedu Okoli, popularly known as Flavour, for Globacom’s new T. V drama series is now ruling the airwaves in the south east and south south parts of the country.
The social satire series, Professor John Bull, is sponsored by grand-masters of data, Globacom.
Flavour’s four-minute sound track highlights the essence of the drama, and centres on Nollywood great, Kanayo O. Kanayo, who plays the lead role, Prof. John Bull, a flamboyant character with a penchant for highfalutin language.
It also features screen stars such as Patience Ozokwor (Mama G), Bimbo Akintola, Mercy Johnson, Yomi Fash Lanso, Ime Bishop, Queen Nwokoye, Chiwetalu Agu and several Glo Ambassadors.
The song’s rhythm has Flavour’s irresistible signature style of urban high-life music, making it the hot choice of radio stations across the South East and South South. From Enugu to Ebonyi, Anambra, Abia, Imo, Cross Rivers, Rivers and Akwa Ibom, the song is played repeatedly on popular stations. Music lovers were heard on Friday urging presenters on Dream FM, Enugu, and other stations to play the song for them during phone-in programmes.
They particularly enjoy the manner Flavour repeatedly hails the erudite Prof who has travelled round the world acquiring knowledge and enlarging his vocabulary.
The lead character in the drama Kanayo, described the song as simply perfect. “The sound track for this drama series is just apt and awesome. In-fact, I was marveled when I listened to it. It just summarizes what the drama series is about. It encapsulates the story-line”, he declared.
Prof John Bull is produced and directed by Tchidi Chikere, who explained that Flavour was carefully selected to compose the song because of his style and genre of music. “It’s a beautiful one by Flavour, it’s a song you would want to listen to over and over again anytime of the day”, he stated.
Nollywood legend, Richard Mofe-Damijo, serves as consultant to the project.
