Acting IGP, a Bright Light in the Police – IPCR Boss

The Director General of the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR) and Chairman of the Peace and Security Forum (PSF), Professor Oshita Osang Oshita, has described the acting Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, as a bright light in the Nigeria Police.

He therefore commended President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing the acting IGP and expressed high hope for effective policing in the country under the new police boss.

While attesting to the credibility of the acting IGP, the DG said in a statement,
“You have been a bright light in the Nigeria Police Force since your years as a young officer. I have no doubt that you will bring your wealth of experience to bear in your leadership of the Nigeria Police Force. May God grant you the wisdom and good health to provide NPF with inspiring and exemplary leadership.”

The statement, which was signed by Media Assistant to the DG, Michael Abu, expressed confidence that under the new leadership, policing in Nigeria will be taken to a higher level of effectiveness, transparency and accountability in the coming months and years.
