Alli’s Committee Plans Big for 20th Edition Nigeria Cup
As preparations for the 20th edition of Nigeria Cup, a weeklong golf tournament put in place to celebrate the nation’s national Independence anniversary, gathers momentum, Chairman of 2016 the event organising committee, Bayo Alli, has said that this year edition will be a special one even as he appeal to well meaning Nigerians, members of Ikoyi club and especially corporate organisations for support.
Speaking in a chat with newsmen during the week, Bayo Alli said the appeal became necessary so as to enable the organizers raise needed fund to executive the programmes already earmarked for the event.
While saying this year’s edition will be a very unique one, Alli added that the organising committee promises value for all members of the club, sponsors and corporate Nigeria. ‘A Nigerianized Nigeria Cup is what we will see come October 1st’.
“This year’s Nigeria Cup is going to be different in many ways if you look at the programmes we are working on. This year’s edition will be for all Nigerians, it will be used to showcase what made us Nigerians, in terms of the fashion, food, art and every other area we will showcase our uniqueness”. Alli said.
2016 Nigeria Cup, Bayo Alli explained further will involve professional golfers who will compete in a full professional and amateur event. The Pro-Am, he said, will involve single handicap players.
