How Alade Aromire Inspired My Career
US-based actress, Lola Faduri, has just completed a multi-million naira movie that is set to wow lovers of Yoruba movie industry and good movies at large. Lola Faduri, who is also a medical practitioner in the United States, started her career in 2001 under the Odunfa caucus. She shot the movie titled ‘Ayanmo’ and it features Yinka Quadri, Iyabo Ojo, Mercy Aigbe, Mustapha Sholagbade and Abimbola Ogunnowo and others. The movie and another titled, “Ife Odale” will be marketed by Okiki Films.
Breaking through in tough terrain of movie business was an adventure for Lola as she had to rely on advice and lessons from late Alade Aromire and her boss Yinka Quadri. “The late Alade Aromire was my mentor too. He told me to always believe in myself and never give up regardless of anything. So, when I travelled abroad and left acting for a long time to focus on another career in the medical field, I constantly remember his advice, and this made me further my education as an actress.
“I got admission and studied acting for film and I graduated with Associate of fine Art from The Renowned NY film academy,” said Lola.
The recipient of Yoruba heritage Awards has featured in Yoruba movies like Kofo the First Lady, Adisa the Tailor, Egbin, Ola Inu kan, Majemu America and English productions, namely Scores, Against all Odds and The Hurdle.
