NIMASA’s Lami Tumaka among Top 100 Global PR Professionals
The Head of Public Relations of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Hajia Lami Tumaka, has been named among the top 100 global public relations practitioners in the world for mentees to follow by EvanCarmichael.com worldwide in April 2016. This is in recognition of Hajia Tumaka’s passion for professionalism in the practice of public relations for which she is widely known.

Tumaka’s core public relations experience spans over two decades having been public relations manager as far back as 1991 with the Peugeot Automobile Nigeria (PAN) Limited Kaduna for several years, before joining the services of the then National Maritime Authority (NMA) in 1998.
As head of public relations in NIMASA, Tumaka is responsible for managing the image of the foremost maritime agency, responsible for the regulation of shipping activities in Nigeria and the promotion of indigenous shipping capacity in international and coastal trade.
A fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Tumaka holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature and Masters Degree in Business Administration, both from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria. She also earned a Certificate in Basic Film Production from TV College, Jos and a Diploma in Public Relations from the prestigious Holborn College, London.
A woman with an undying penchant for professional public relations practice, Hajia Tumaka has a humane disposition and a track record of achievements in all her endeavours holding the trio of honesty, commitment and hard work as her guiding principles.
Tumaka has won several awards in the course of her professional career, including the Maritime Media Woman of the Year on several occasions, and the Best Maritime Industry Public Relations Officer.
