An all progressive Party (APC) scribe in Gombe State, Alhaji Umar Babagoro Mu’azu has described the purported move to impeach President Muhammadu Buhiri as a futility game.

According to him, Nigerians would mobilize themselves to vehemently nullify the impeachment because majority of them are happy with the President, especially the successes achieved in the fight against corruption.

He spoke to Journalists in his home yesterday in reaction to the purported moves by some Senate members to begin impeachment processes against President Buhari, where he blamed the current imbroglio to some of the APC Senate members who gathered somewhere when they were being expected to assemble at the NASS for their inauguration and swearing-in at the inception of the Eight Senate.

He said “that idea is not a proper way of thinking at all; he can never be impeached, but should that happen, Nigerians will mobilize themselves to vehemently react against it.

He described the disagreement between the Senate and the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice as something that can be solved amicably without causing any friction within the APC.

In his words, “disagreement is normal in democracy but it should not go to the extent of throwing the bath water with the baby, politicians should be patient and obey the rule of law”.

He called on the embattled Senate President, Bukola Saraki to sit with the party’s national officials to sort things out, saying this is the best option for the party now to consolidate on the achievements of the Party’s victory at the 2015 general elections”.

He warned that the current situation could lead to giving advantage to the opposition party, the PDP in the Senate if Saraki and his party leadership do not sit down to sort out themselves.END.
