Edo 2016: Obaseki Promises N1.8bn Farms in Each LGA Within First Six Months in Office

Godwin Obaseki, Edo state governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the September election, has promised that within the first six months of coming into office, he will establish a farm in each of the 18 the local government areas of the state.

Obaseki who made the promise while addressing a group of associations in the state, including farmers, said the farms would gulp the sum of N1.8 billion with an allocation of N100 million for each of the local government areas.

According to him, those of you who are farmers should see yourselves as having no problem because “as soon as I am sworn in as governor within the first six months of us coming into the office, I will create and give a 100 million naira. each for farms to be located in every local government.

“We will sit down with the communities and they will make one square mile of land available. in every local government which will be known as district farm”.

In addition to that, Obaseki noted that for the urban areas like Oredo and so on, there would be fishery, poultry and fishery in large scale where young farmers will be given a piece of land to farm.
