‘We ’ll Avoid Defeat at 3SC’
Niger Tornadoes attacking winger Wilfred Angel Ammeh has declared himself healthy for the top-flight clash at Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC).
The Minna outfit hitman was down with typhoid fever shortly after his side’s 0-1 loss to Rivers United in top-flight Match-day 26 clash in Port Harcourt and was conspicuously absent in the 1-1 draw against Wikki Tourists in Lokoja last weekend.
The newcomers will be the guests of the Oluyole Warriors in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Match-day 28 clash at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan.
Ammeh said his side will strive hard to avoid defeat at 3SC aimed at keeping a pole distance from the drop zone.
“I have resumed training with my teammates after missing the home clash against Wikki Tourists on Sunday in Lokoja due to the bout of typhoid fever I developed after our game at Rivers United in Port Harcourt.
“Of course, I’m 100 per cent fit and healthy, certain to be available for selection at 3SC on Sunday in Ibadan.
“The clash at 3SC is crucial for us to still stay away from the trouble water after failing to pick maximum points against Wikki Tourists.
“We must work very hard to avoid defeat at 3SC else we will soon see ourselves deep in the relegation zone.
“Though it’s going to be a daunting task as 3SC are not comfortable on the log as well as coming from a defeat at Rivers United we have no choice but to pick at least a point in worst case scenario.
“A point can still keep us momentarily within the comfort zone till we engage Abia Warriors in our next home match,” said the Niger Tornadoes marksman to supersport.com.
Niger Tornadoes have garnered 33 points from 26 matches, 13 points behind league leaders Enugu Rangers.
