The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) on Thursday commenced a 12 weeks training programme for men of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on management and handling of dogs for crime control and internal security.

At the flag-off of the inter-agency collaboration at Dei-Dei on the outskirt of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Ibrahim Idris, represented by DIG, Habila Joshak, said the training will no doubt add value to the NAF in the area of internal security.

The Police boss said: “I want you to make use of this opportunity so that when you get out there you will add value to the Air Force.

“At a point we were looking for the complement of the Air Force in internal security, we have a few but now you will become professionals in dog handling and can now stand in the gap where officers are not there.”
