Navy Officers Arrest Two Suspected Fake Soldiers in Kwara

Two middle-aged men suspected to be fake soldiers have been arrested by officers of Nigerian Navy School of Health Sciences, Offa, in Kwara state.

The suspects, according to THISDAY checks, were said to be using military uniform to solicit financial assistance from the members of the public in the town.

Parading the suspects in Offa on Tuesday before journalists at a news conference, the Commandant, Nigerian Navy School of Health Sciences (NNHS), Offa, Capt. Ibrahim Nurudeen, said, ‘”I just want to inform you that the person you are seeing standing by my side is a fake soldier. We arrested him in collaboration with a serving soldier or alleged to be a soldier because he presented an identity card and a pass which we are yet to verify.

“We arrested two of them at the Union Bank at Offa following a tip-off. We had information from the community on some people parading themselves as military personnel.”
