As hardship hit the country occasioned by the nation’s economic recession, Nigerians have been told to pray ceaselessly for God to intervene, deliver the country and restore its lost glory.
Already, a prayer network, Global Community Revival Outreach in collaboration with the Akwa Ibom State Government has initiated prayer summits to intercede against the present economic predicament the country is experiencing.
In a chat with journalists in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital, the coordinator of the prayer summits, Rev. Joshua Cleopas said the time has ripe for Christians across the country to rise and seek God face for the deliverance of the nation.
He said the Global Community Revival Outreach which consists of Christians from all inter-denomination across the country will be praying for deliverance over the bloodletting by politicians, cult groups and others during and after elections and other social activities.
Cleopas explained that the nation-wide prayer crusade to salvage the country from its economic doldrums will be held across all strata, including all the registered political parties, government and non-governmental groups, professional bodies, traditional institution, students, traders and youths.
He expressed optimism that the prayer summits will bring solution to the economic meltdown in the country saying the claim that Nigeria is one of the countries that things cannot work but with prayers the glory of the land shall be restored and the nation will become the envy of other countries.
According to him, this is the time for Clergies, Priests, Bishops and other men of God across the country to rise and pray for the salvation of the nation.
“God is going to do amazing things using our prayers. Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel has approved the prayer network to clean the state and the nation at large.
“At the end of the prayer conference God will bring back the lost glory of the state and nation and we will be an enviable land again.
“The Priests and churches must rise up and come together, join forces together and make prophetic declaration about the land.
“The prayers must start from the family, community, local government, state and then the country. It is only the truth that will set the nation free from this bondage.
“The land is polluted by blood. We are going out as intercessor to pray for the healing of the land and the good things restored back in the country,” Cleopas declared.
He summited that the blood shed by politicians and cult groups and others were blocking manifestation of good things on the land hence the present economic hardship being experienced by the citizens.
“In Akwa Ibom State in particular and Nigeria in general let blood shed stop. Blood is brewing famine which is what we are passing through now.
“The innocent people are dying; this country must stop this bloodshed. If churches rise up against this blood bath, hardship will stop in this country”, he added, stressing that the purpose of the prayer session is to bring redemption to the nation.
