Police Investigates Father for Raping, Administering Pregnancy Prevention Drugs to Daughter

The gender unit department of the Lagos State Command is investigating a case of defilement reported against one Uchena Tony Elumadu, a resident of Martins Street, new Oko Oba, Agege Lagos.
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, Dolapo Badmos, a Superintendent of Police, preliminary investigation had revealed that the suspect, who is a trader, had on different occasions raped the daughter after which he usually administers drugs to prevent her from getting pregnant.
The victim, a 15-year-old Junior Secondary School (JSS 3) student while narrating her ordeal to the police said her father had on countless occasions woken her up in the middle of the night to rape her, mostly when her mother is on night duty.
Badmos said, “The mother who is a casual worker in one of the outfits attached to airport, on the night of 19/9/2016 discovered the suspect having intercourse with the victim, an occurrence that made her raised alarm.
“The victim is currently admitted in the Police College where she is receiving treatment in partnership with Mirabel centre LASUTH where medical examination will be carried out on her.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Fatai Owoseni has directed that the father who admitted to the rape on three occasions, blaming the act on the devil, be charged to court, as he also stated that the command will no longer tolerate cases relating to domestic and sexual violence.”
