He lauded the current efforts of local government chairmen whom he said have contributed a lot in curbing criminality in their respective areas.
“The state government is presenting these motorcycles to aid the increasing consciousness with regards to security and community policing in all the local governments.
“This administration has done so much to protect lives and property in the state. These motorcycles are just to argument what has already been done,” the commissioner said.
Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the governor on Security Matters, Brigadier General Fred Eze (rtd), said the presentation of the motorcycles which he called the “enablers” would go a long way in enhancing the task of securing the state, stressing that certain terrains where suspected criminals reside can only be easily accessed using the motorcycles.
In his remarks, the state ALGON chairman, Prince Cornelius Nnaji, said the presentation is to support local government chairmen in reducing crimes to the barest minimum in the rural areas of the state.
He said ALGON was grateful to the state governor who made the donation in spite of the present harsh economic condition in the country and considering the fact that his administration has done quite much in combating crime in parts of the state.
