Akwa Ibom Indigenes in Lagos Pledge Allegiance

Akwa Ibom indigenes in Lagos under the aegis of Eket Federal Constituency, Lagos chapter, compromising Onna, Eket, Esit Eket and Ibeno Local Government Areas of the state have pledged unalloyed support and determination to work for Governor Udom Emmanuel’s more success in office and overall progress of the state. The indigenes of the area made their intention known in a release signed by its president, Dr. Patrick Essien which, contained New Year message to the government and people of the state.
The people while congratulating all and sundry for seeing the New Year, commended Governor Emmanuel whom they described as God’s gift not only to the constituency but for Akwa Ibom and Nigeria in general, on his achievements and successes recorded so far since resumption of office especially on the unity, peaceful co – existence and harmonious relationship among people of different religion in the state, industrialisation strides, youth empowerment and development, making life more simpler and comfortable for the people and above all, improvement in security of lives and property in the state.
According to the statement, “We the good people of Akwa Ibom, the Eket Federal constituency, Lagos chapter are happy with our son, brother and governor of our dear state, Mr. Udom Emmanuel and pledged to give him the necessary support – morally, spiritually and socially to succeed and to take the state to enviable height.”
The people in the statement also commended the governor’s representative in Lagos, Elder Samuel Bassey and other representatives at the National Assembly and the State House of Assembly for their uprightness and good representations and urged them to continue to work for the interest and good of the people of the area and state at large.
They also commiserated with the government and families of victims who lost their lives after the collapse of church building last year in Uyo and most especially the governor whom providence has spared in the mishap. They assured that 2017 would be a very good year for the people, state and nation at large.
