Chinedu Raymond Eluamaka, known as Lil Trim, is a hip hop artiste, who broke into the scene as far back as 2010 and has held his own in the game. In this chat with Tosin Clegg, he talks about music
Tell us about your music.
My music is me and I make music based on how I feel at that particular moment. I don’t just sing; I have to sing about something or about what I have been through; this inspires me to do music. For example, my new single titled marijuana, which I am going to be dropping very soon, is a typical example of what I am talking about. I put together people’s experience which I have witnessed and heard about, coupled with my own experience and made the song.
Who are your mentors?
Jesus Christ is my number one mentor. I admire His meekness, wisdom, faith and love for everyone, no matter whom and what they are. I also look up to Tu Face, Burna Boy, Wande Coal, Wizkid, Davido, Bryson Tiller, Tory Lanez, Drake, Runtown, because they are all super-duper talented.
Where do you see ourself in five years?
I see Lil Trim as a household name and kicking off my own record label and producing at least two or three superstars from the hood. I also see myself as a multi award-wining artist, both international and local.
