Ebonyi APC Divided over Nnamani's Adoption
Benjamin Nworie in Abakaliki
Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ebonyi State chapter,
Hon. Ben Nwaobasi said that the media report credited to his deputy,
Eze Nwachukwu Eze over the adoption of Former Senate President,
Senator Ken Nnamani as the leader of the party in the South-east by
Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha does not represent the position of
the party but his personal opinion.
The chairman noted that he has not authorized his deputy to speak on
behalf of the party and any statement carelessly made by him does not
stand the test of time and should be regarded as a side talk, as it
does not receive the blessing of APC in Ebonyi State.
“I rebuked his deputy for displaying political hooliganism and
desperation to the extent of making such comments without first of all
getting clearance or permission from him or state working committee”,
Nwobasi said.
The chairman recounted that his deputy, Nwachukwu had on Monday issued
a statement purported to be made on behalf of the party without due
authorization from him that the state chapter of the party had
dissociated itself from Nnamani’s adoption.
Nwachukwu had posited that Okorocha’s adoption of Senator Nnamani as
his leader in the south east was attempt to give what he does not have
which amounts to a joke and Ebonyi state APC dissociated itself wholly
from the charade.
But in a swift reaction, the chairman rebuked his deputy for embarking
on such ill fated mission, which was plot to cause infraction between
the leaders of the party in the state and zone.
Nwobasi urged the two leaders whose names were mention to disregard
the publication as its not coming from the right source.
The chairman further called on the all APC members and supporters
across the country to discountenance the empty outrage of his deputy,
who has displayed childishness by disrespecting his leaders just to
meet up with the bidding of his paymasters.
He urged members of the party to disregard the said report as
handiwork of mischief makers, who are bent in causing disharmony in
the party, stressing that any statements or comments that did not
emanate from him should be thrown to the waste bin as the party in
the state has only one chairman in his name, Ben Nwobasi.
