NFPAWA Calls for Entry in Risk Management Writing Competition

A group, NFPAWA, has called for entries from safety experts across Africa as it launched the maiden edition of its writing tournament. The annual competition is part of the group’s initiative at developing capacity in security, fire and safety risk management, with practising and aspiring risk management practitioners & emergency services professionals, security consultants and risk managers including students; and whether at the under-graduate, graduate or post-graduate levels, all expected to participate in the tournament.
In a statement made available to TTHISDAY, the group’s Programme Director, Mrs. Anthonia Beri, stated that interested participants should submit essays bordering on any of the following topics: Accepted Standard, Benchmarks & Mitigative Measures for Information Communications Technology and Telecoms, Facilities & Critical Infrastructure Protection, Accepted Standard, Benchmark & Mitigative Measures for all Occupancy, Accepted Standard, Benchmark & Mitigative Measures for Security Systems in all Facilities, Scientific Guide And Accepted Methodology For Fire & Explosion Investigation as well as Guide for Organisation & Deployment of Fire Emergency Rescue & Salvage Operations.
The competition will produce 12 winners comprising six students and six professionals who will have the opportunity to attend NFPWA certification programme for free in May 5 at the Oriental Hotels in Lagos. The programme is worth N250,000. In addition, winners will be privileged to meet with global experts in the field as they gather new depths, orientation and insights which will guide them in building sustainable macro-economic development. All submissions must be made sent to writeups@nfpawa.com in PDF format on or before March 30.
