Dangote Foundation Expends N7.2 Billion to Upgrade Vital Health Facilities at Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital Kano

Dangote Foundation have expended over N7.2 billion in upgrading some vital facilities at the Murtala Specialist Hospital, Kano.
The Managing Directo/Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Zouera Yousuffou speaking weekend alongside the Executive Director in the Foundation Hajia Fatima Dangote said the purpose of embarking on the projects by the chairman of the Group, Aliko Dangote is improve the dilapidated health condition of the specialist hospital.
According to her the projects which the foundation has constructed and upgraded were Surgical and Diagnostic centre, side laboratory and blood bank facilities, sinking of boreholes, beddings, maternity and laundry wards, as well as the construction of Drainage pattern.
She said that within the first two years, the Foundation will train medical personnel to handle the equipment, so as to ensure the sustenance of the maintenance culture.
Yousuffou disclosed that the multi-billion new Surgical and Diagnostic Centre, which is under construction will gulp not less than N7 billion, while the brand new Side Laboratory and Blood bank Building, including other vital infrastructure, cost about N200 million.
The goal of the projects, according to the Executive Director of the Foundation, Hajiya Fatima Dangote, is to bring ease and comfort to the needy, adding the Foundation is always ready to provide the needed assistance, as this upgrade is one among many, meant for the poor.
In his remarks, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, who was represented by his Deputy, Professor Hafiz Abubakar, thanked Dangote Foundation for his historic intervention.
Professor Hafiz adding that the good gesture will alleviate the sufferings of pregnant women during child delivery at the Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital.
While expressing deep appreciation for the Project, Ganduje called on prosperous Nigerians, especially from Kano to emulate Dangote Foundation’s good gesture as Government alone cannot provide all the basic infrastructure for the improvement of healthcare of the people.
However, he appealed to the Hospital management to ensure the maintenance of the equipment by upholding maintenance culture.
