Court Sentences Man to Jail for Robbery

Justice Ntong F. Ntong of Ikot Ekpene High Court on Wednesday sentenced a 28-year-old man, Eberechi Mbachi, to 21 years imprisonment for robbery.

The accused was charged to court by the Akwa Ibom State government on a one-count charge of armed robbery.

Mbachi in charge No. HT/8/2015 was alleged to have carried out the robbery with others now at large on April 12, 2014 at Kemson Filling Station located at No. 113 Umuahia road, Ikot Ekpene.

The convict and others at large were said to have on the fateful day, broken into Kemson Filling Station belonging to one Elder Aniekan Nelson Ekanem where he stole cash, stabiliser and other items.
