FG Accredits Rullion Capacity Builders as Vocational Trade Test Centre

The Federal Government through the ministry of Labour and Productivity has  approved  that Rullion Capacity Builders, a non-governmental organisation focused on empowering women and youths in skills acquisition and entrepreneurship,  be granted national accreditation as a trade testing centre for vocational training.

The Chief Executive Officer of the organisation and Programme Director, Oluwatoyin Egedi disclosed this recently at an event to mark the commencement of the 2017 training session.

According to her, the latest development would boost the performance and yield of the organisation.

“We are indeed  honoured to have been accredited by the federal government. This is a great achievement for us that will no doubt impact our trainees positively as they can now embark on industrial training programmes in government institutions and reputable private organisations upon completion of their training here,” she said

She stated that the accreditation covered all the programmes offered in the centre which included cosmetology (Make up, gele tying and beauty therapy), catering and baking, beads accessories and clothing embellishment. Others are event decorations and management, photography as well as slippers and bag making.

The CEO recounted that the organisation had trained more than 1000 women and youths in the last three years , majority of whom were educated but had stopped pursuing professional careers as a result of the challenges that come with parenting.

“We tailored our progammes according to what each individual’s family commitments allowed and we are proud to announce that many have gone on to build fledging businesses that allows them adequate time for the family. We have had women come in from as far as Ghana and Cameroon to train with us and this excites us.

“Rullion has been able to help women and youths develop self-confidence and achieve financial freedom with the new skills they learnt. We not only train but also support women to build SMEs. We will be opening centres across Nigeria in the nearest future and look forward to working with government, non-government organisations and corporate bodies in reaching more Nigerians,” Egedi concluded.
