Defection from PDP to APC: Chime, On His Own, Say Kinsmen

Hundreds of kinsmen of the former Governor of Enugu State, Sullivan Chime has distanced themselves from the recent exit of the former governor from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The kinsmen from his Umuneke Udi clan in Udi Local Government Area of the state who rose from a meeting of Stakeholders and Leaders of Thought held at the community hall passed a vote of no confidence on the former governor, describing his eight year reign as governor of the state as totally dismal.
The leader of the community and former member of the House of Representatives, Chief Gary Eneh said the former governor was on his own as the people of the area remained solidly in PDP.
According to the communiqué jointly signed by Chief Sam Aneke and Emeka Aneke, the meeting noted the tragic neglect of the Umuneke clan in particular and Udi local government area in general by the former governor and how Governor Ugwuanyi has made hope, peace and balanced development the hallmark of his administration
The meeting unanimously passed a vote of confidence on Governor Ugwuanyi, Ekweremadu and the member representing Udi/Ezeagu federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Dennis Amadi for the good job they are doing for the people of Enugu State.
The meeting solemnly called for more support for them so that they could realize their good intentions for the people of Enugu State.
The communiqué reads in part: “The leaders of thought and stakeholders from Umuneke Community in Udi local government area of Enugu State converged at Udi town hall on April 13 2017 to review the socio-political developments in Enugu State, Enugu West senatorial zone and Udi/Ezeagu federal constituency under the chairmanship of Chief Sam Aneke.
“The meeting was well attended by a cross section of leaders from the (12) autonomous communities that make up Umuneke clan including elders, women and youth groups among others. At the meeting the following resolutions were made.
“The meeting commended his Excellency, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his pragmatic, people oriented and visionary leadership whioch has impacted positively on the lives of the people of Enugu State, especially the provision of critical infrastructure and good governance.”
