Group Condemns Incessant Kidnapping in Aba

•  Calls on security personnel to arrest the situation

A group known as Umu-Aba Connect has condemned the continued kidnapping incidents at Aba in Abia State.

According to the statement made available to THISDAY by the Vice President of the group, Mr. Chima Desmond Anyaso, the group disclosed that professionals ranging from doctors, lawyers, Investors and businessmen are their latest targets now.

“From our findings the security agents are left with little or no logistics to tackle this menace. This is why the members of Umu-Aba Connect wish to express our sadness with the various kidnapping incidents happening now in our dear Enyimba City.

“We therefore call on the state and federal government to speedily tackle this problem by providing adequate logistics for the security agents so that the progress so far achieved in raising the awareness on the potentials of Aba Small Medium Enterprise by the various levels of government will not be eroded by this security issue.

“We also want to use this medium to call upon the residents of our great Enyimba city to support security agents by giving information of suspected individuals and movements within their neighbourhoods.

“We encourage all to support in securing Aba-Enyimba City. We will engage the state government and security agents in the state on possible areas of assistance in a view to supporting in getting rid of kidnappers in our city,” the statement added
