Three Robbery Suspects Burnt to Death in Benue

Three robbery suspects on Tuesday met their waterloo in Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State as angry youths stoned and burnt them to death

The incident, according to the Sole Administration of the area, Mr. Teryila Iorhemen, happened at a filling station located at the popular ‘Y’ Junction which is about 150 kilometres to the All Progressives Congress (APC) secretariat.

Iorhemen said the robbers had stormed the petrol station asking everyone to lie face down while they shot into the air.

Another attempt to shoot failed indicating that they had run out of bullets.
“It was at this point that the irate mob apprehended and burnt them beyond recognition before the police could arrive the scene,” he said.

It has been observed that petrol stations in the area have been under incessant attacks by robbers which has made them to close as early as 8p.m.

The Police Public Relations Officer (ASP) Moses Yamu, who confirmed the incident, said that investigation had commenced into the matter.
