South-south APC Endorses Giadom for Deputy National Secretary

The All Progressives Congress (APC) South-south zone has unanimously endorsed the nomination of Victor Tombari Giadom, for the office of the party’s deputy national secretary.

Giadom is to replace Comrade Oji Ngofa who was recently cleared by the senate as one of the ambassador designates, having been nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari as a nominee from Rivers State.

The approval of Giadom’s nomination by the APC in the zone took place during a meeting of the zone’s party leaders, which held at Transcop Hotel Calabar.

The meeting was presided over by the Zonal Secretary of the party, Chief Stephen Ezekwe, who stood in for the Zonal Chairman, Prince Hillard Ettah who reportedly missed his flight from Abuja to Calabar for the meeting.

Briefing journalists after the meeting, the zonal secretary said it was a single agenda meeting to simply consider the nomination of Victor Tombari Giadom as replacement to the office of the party’s deputy national secretary following the appointment of Hon. Oji Ngofa as an ambassador designate by President Mohammadu Buhari.

“Accordingly, all the party stakeholders and leaders of the zone have endorsed the nomination of Victor Giadom. The name will be forwarded to the National Executive Committee of the party for ratification.”

Speaking of his nomination, Giadom said party management and affairs are familiar terrains for him and he remains grateful to stakeholders for deeming him fit for the office.

He said President Buhari, as an APC member, is making things easier for party stakeholders in the South-south who are now able to point at things done by the APC government for people in the zone, as against what obtained during the regime of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) led by a son of the South-south

“President Buhari has shown that he is a better brother and in 2019 we will all work to deliver all the South-south states to the APC,” Giadom said.

Former National Assembly member, and one of the stakeholders in the meeting, Hon. Paul Adah congratulated Giadom on his emergence, which he described as well deserved, peaceful and transparent.

Adah urged him to work cohesively with other stakeholders from the zone to ensure 100 percent support for the party”.

The Ngofa was at the meeting alongside many other stakeholders from the zone who came in from Akwa Ibom State, Bayelsa State, Delta state, Edo state, Rivers state and the host Cross River State.
