It was a glamorous night last Friday when O’Trafford Squash Club rolled out the red carpets to celebrate and honour some of it’s members for their immense contributions to the game of squash and the rapid progress of the club.
The event, which took place at the Metropolitan Club, Victoria Island, Lagos was a social hub for renowned dignitaries in the society and top notchers in the business and communications world who graced the occasion to savour the colourful evening of awards to deserving members.
Top on the list of awardees was the Group Managing Director of UACN Plc, Larry Ettah, who also doubles as the founding chairman of the O’ Trafford Squash Club. The award night was compere by popular sports television host, Charles Anazodo.Â
In his opening remark, the newly elected Chairman of the O’Trafford Squash Club, Remi Adeosun, described the night as one to: “recognise the effort of the founding fathers of the club.â€Â
Adeosun added that: “O’Trafford is a balanced club of the young and the old.â€
The five awardees on the special night include Joseph Odion Ijie; Tunji Olaniyi, Akinsope Roberts, Akeem Oladapo (former Vice Chairman of O’Trafford), and Larry Ettah, who is regarded as the brain behind the O’Trafford concept.
In his closing speech, Vice Chairman of the O’Trafford Squash Club, Taye Ige, described the award night as one of the of key objectives of the new Exco that will eventually see the club metamorphose into a big entity in the realm of sports and social well being in the near future.
