A National Assembly member representing Takai/Sumaila Federal constituency in Kano State, Hon. Garba Umar Durbunde, has been kidnapped.
The lawmaker was abducted on his way to Abuja from Kano while driving alone in his car.
Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has condemned Durbunde’s abduction, saying it was an act of wickedness by the kidnappers, particularly in this Holy month of Ramadan.
Ganduje, in a press statement by the Commissioner for Information Muhammad Garba Wednesday therefore, called on the police and other security agencies to intensify effort and rescue the lawmaker while also advising members of the public to be vigilant and be security conscious at all times.Â
Durbunde was a former Commissioner for Rural development during the administration of former Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso.
