By Mohammed Aminu in Sokoto
Following the recent ultimatum given to the Igbos to leave the north by Arewa youths in Kaduna, Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has urged Nigerians to avoid inflammatory remarks capable of causing disunity among the people.
He also assured the Igbos and other resident communities of adequate security in the state.
Speaking Friday night when he hosted members of the resident communities at the annual iftar breaking of fast session organised by the state government in Sokoto, Tambuwal said he was determined to protect the Igbos and other tribes resident in Sokoto State.
He stressed that there was no need for them to panic, as government would do whatever it takes to ensure security in the state.
The governor said that  he was solidly behind the position of Governor Ibrahim Shetima of Borno State in respect of the ultimatum issued by the Arewa youths.
