StillEarth Supports Chidi Kwubiri’s Wanderlust
StillEarth, a construction and realties giant, is one of the major corporate sponsors of VIP Art Exhibition opening of Wanderlust, presenting works by Chidi Kwubiri, Emeka Udemba, Junkman from Afrika, Jimmy Nwanne, Unoma Numero, Yetunde Ayeni-Babaeko. The event would be hosted by WheatBaker, Lagos, on July 8, 2017.
Chidi Kwubiri is a Nigerian artist. He has been drawing and painting since his childhood in Umuahia, Southeastern Nigeria. At school, he devoted his time and energy to learning the basic principles of perspective, still life and figurative drawings.
In 1993 Chidi Kwubiri participated as a guest student in the masterclass of Michael Buthe at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, shortly thereafter becoming a regular student and studying painting from 1994 to 2002 at the same arts academy in the masterclass of A. R. Penck.
Kwubiri lives and works with his family in Pulheim near Cologne. He had numerous individual and group exhibitions in Germany and other countries. He designed, among other things, the lenten veil of the German Catholic charity Misereor for 2017 and 2018.
Leading construction company, StillEarth, has stated that the sponsorship of Wanderlust is a further demonstration of the company’s commitment to the promotion and sustenance of African arts and culture as well as its rich fashion tradition.
“As a truly Nigerian company operating within the African continent, StillEarth will continue to be associated with the development of Africa’s rich culture, its works of art and its priceless body of literature†the statement added. Other official sponsors are Deutsche Bank, Louis Guntrum, German Consulate General. It promises to be a great event.
