Youths Protest Abduction of Baale
Chiemelie Ezeobi
Six days after Chief Mutiu Ogundare, the Baale of Shangisha in Magodo, Lagos, was kidnapped by a three-man gang along the Centre for Management Development (CMD) Road, Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA), the youths of the area are presently spoiling for war.
Meanwhile, mum has been the word on the part of the kidnappers as they are yet to reach out to the family to state their demands.
The youths, who are aggrieved at the abduction of their traditional ruler, are particularly in a riotous mood over the seeming lack of measures by security agencies to rescue him.
It was gathered that the youths have been pointing accusing fingers at the remaining gang members of the notorious kidnapper, Chukwudumeje Onwuamadike, alias Evans, as being the brain behind the kidnap.
The youths, who described the abduction as a ‘revenge kidnap’, said Evans’ remaining gang members, who are still on the run, might be responsible given that they might feel that the baale helped the police to narrow down Evans location, which led to his arrest.
