Acting President Yemi Osinbajo wednesday ordered fresh reinforcements of security forces in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State to quell the recent outbreak of communal clashes which had reportedly claimed over 30 lives in the area.
A statement by his media aide, Mr. Laolu Akande, said the acting president also commiserated with families of the victims, the government and people of Kaduna State and wished victims who sustained injuries a speedy recovery.
The statement also said Osinbajo commended the prompt response and efforts of the state government and security agencies which he said brought the situation under control and restored the peace.
It also said the acting president condemned the violence in strong terms, pointing out that the security challenges in Southern Kaduna which had claimed several lives had been a source of concern for the federal government and all well-meaning Nigerians.
Recalling previous and ongoing efforts of the federal government to address the situation, Osinbajo said no effort would be spared to fish out perpetrators of the current tragedy and consequently bring them to justice.
The statement further said Osinbajo stated that Nigerians in Kaduna and all parts of the country had the right to live in peace while the federal government would leave no stone unturned to ensure this is done.
“We will not relent and won’t be deterred in our pursuit of securing the lives and property of all Nigerians, everywhere and in every part of this nation. In the end, we will not only secure the peace all around, but we shall enforce justice for the victims and all of those that are affected,â€
