A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress Party (APC) and the Chairman of Kusamotu & Kusamotu, Barrister Ayodele Musibau Kusamotu in Lagos wednesday berated the party for not taking seriously the burning issue of restructuring.
In a statement signed wednesday in Lagos, he urged the party’s hierarchy not to take the people for granted noting that the issue of restructuring is people oriented and it is a call that will continue to resonate even if the party continues to ignore it.
The Principal Counsel at the law firm also sees the appointment of the Kaduna State governor as the chairman of the committee on restructuring as ironic arguing that the governor had severally voiced out his opposition to the idea.
Kusamotu urged the party to gauge the pulse of the people and implement their wishes ,else they might lose the goodwill and sympathy it enjoyed in the last general elections.
He however, hinged the way forward on the need for internal democracy and a participatory democratic process that sees all card- carrying member of the party as stakeholders whose voices must be heard.
The former Federal House of Representatives aspirant in Osun State added that his preoccupation now is empowering members of his constituents especially the youths, women and the vulnerables among others noting that he believes in grassroot mobilisation and human capacity development.
