Fayose’s Presidential Ambition will Revive PDP, Says Senator Ola
By Victor Ogunje in Ado Ekiti
A former National Assembly member, Senator Bode Ola, has revealed that the presidential ambition of the Ekiti State governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, as declared on Saturday, would further strengthen the Peoples Democratic Party ahead of 2019.
Ola, who is the Chairman of the Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board, added that Fayose has become the voice of the oppressed, saying his interest in the race would help the PDP’s course because the Nigerian populace sees him as the only hope of the common man.
Fayose , had at the venue of the party’s convention held in Abuja declared his interest in the race, which some members of the PDP have described as a good development.
Â
Speaking with journalists in Ado Ekiti yesterday, Senator Ola said Governor Fayose had really shored up the popularity of the party as a result of his criticism of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s government.
He added that Governor Fayose remains the most qualified for the coveted position, having helped the party in no small measure during the factional crisis between Senator Ali Modu Sheriff and Ahmed Makarfi over the control of the party.
The SUBEB boss appealed to the people of Ekiti State and Yoruba at large to embrace Fayose’s ambition, saying the people of the zone will benefit tremendously if realised.
“Governor Fayose has proved that he is a leader that can be trusted.
During the factional crisis, he came out boldly against Senator
Sheriff even when some governors under PDP were secretly fraternisingwith the leader of the splinter group.

“When the EFCC was being used to harass  PDP members across thenation,  Fayose stood tall, he remained unperturbed by
criticising President Buhari’s administration. In fact, if not for the
Ekiti Governor, the PDP would have gone into extinction.
