Appeal Court to Trash out 250 Cases in 14 Days
- Holds special sitting in Kogi from Monday

The President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Zainab Adamu Bulkachuwa, will on September 25, 2017, commence a special sitting in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.
According to a statement by Sa’adatu Musa, Media Officer, Court of Appeal headquarters, the move is part of efforts to further decongest backlog of appeals in the various division of the court.
The statement disclosed that after the inaugural ceremony, the sitting proper would commence immediately with the president sitting with the justices of Abuja division for two weeks in the state.
“There are three panels of which panels 1 and 2 will in the next 14 days, trash out about 250 appeals on criminal, civil and human rights matters; while the Shari’a Panel which is the third panel, will hear the pending Shari’a Appeals,†the statement read in part.
