Nigeria, Niger Republic Committed to Mutual Security, Development, Says Wamakko

The Senator representing Sokoto Central Senatorial district, Alhaji Aliyu Wamakko, saturday said Nigeria and Niger Republic are committed to sustaining their mutual security, unity and development.
Wamakko, who is also the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Basic and Secondary Education, spoke shortly after he held a closed door meeting with President Muhammadou Isoufou of Niger republic.
According to him, they discussed issues of commmon interest affecting the two countries. “We are here for our routine meeting with the President on some issues of common interests ranging from health, security, agriculture and other related issues,among others.
“We are also in Niamey to see the President who has become an Adviser and mutual partner. So, we are confident that our discussions today will further boost peace, unity and socio-economic prosperity between Nigeria and Niger republic, as well as Sokoto in particular .”
He extolled the cordial relationship between the two countries and urged the Nigerienne president to sustain that.
Wamakko was accompanied to the visit by Senator Mustapha Bukar, representing Katsina North, Nigeria’s Ambassador to Tanzania, Alhaji Sahabi Isa Gada and Sarkin Kudun Daura, Alhaji Abdullahi Bukar, Mr Peter Butt and the former Chairman of Sokoto North Local Government, Alhaji Abdullahi Hassan.
